A Tribe Called Quest Has a New Album “Coming Very Soon”

The album was recorded before the death of Phife Dawg in March

Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid was a recent guest on the Rap Radar podcast (episode streaming below, relevant segment begins around 14 minutes). During the conversation, Reid revealed that a new album from classic hip hop band A Tribe Called Quest is “coming very soon.” Reid said:

You know what I’m excited about though? A Tribe Called Quest. We have A Tribe Called Quest album coming… A brand new album that they recorded before Phife Dawg passed away. I’m really happy about it – it’s really something special… Coming very soon. It’ll be their first album in 18 years.”

Beloved Tribe member Phife Dawg passed away in March. The group’s last album of new material was 1998’s The Love Movement.
