AC/DC Co-Founder Malcolm Young Dead At 64

AC/DC founding member Malcolm Young has passed away at age 64. The band announced Young’s passing via Facebook, expressing “deep heartfelt sadness.” Malcolm and his brother Angus Young founded AC/DC in Sydney, Australia in 1973. Together, the pair built the dynamic, enormous riffs that made AC/DC a juggernaut of hard rock.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Young had been suffering from dementia for three years. Malcolm permanently retired from AC/DC in 2014, and was replaced by his nephew, Stevie. The band praised Malcolm, saying “he leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever.
