Alex Lahey blasted out of Melbourne on the strength of big pop hits like ‘Let’s Go Out’ and ‘You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me’ (both from her 2016 EP B-Grade University). In three new live videos, you can hear Alex peel back the layers of her sound.

On the dreamy VEVO Discvr live version of ‘Let’s Go Out’, with its laid-back surf drum pump and waves of words, Alex and the band take a bare bones approach that makes the lush chorus sound as personal as a phone call.

Alex has also released a cover of the megahit ‘Torn,’ which was popularized by singer Natalie Imbruglia in 1997. Lahey brings guitar-driven muscle to the well-worn hit while preserving its ear-candy melody. Watch Alex’s ‘Torn’ cover from her triple j session:

Lahey also performed an intimate, stripped down version of her song ‘You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me’ during her triple j session. Watch here:

Alex Lahey is currently on her Wes Anderson Tour in Austrailia. She heads to Europe and the UK in the fall, when her debut full-length record is expected to hit speakers worldwide.
