The most promising heavy metal record of 2016 is due June 17, and it’s called Magma. That much was revealed by Gojira’s new teaser (view below), which the band released today.

According to the band’s recent Rolling Stone feature, they’ve been through a lot since 2012’s L’Enfant Sauvage. Frontman Joe Duplantier built Silver Cord Studio in Queens (where the new album was recorded). Joe and his brother Mario (Gojira’s drummer) also dealt with the loss of their mother. Mario told Rolling Stone, “We respect the fact that this album took a long time, because it’s full of emotion.”

June 17 can’t come fast enough.
