The ‘American badass’ Kid Rock is having a rough week: on Thursday, he was detained by ICE for questioning related to the rock star’s 2007 assault charges. The star, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, was charged with misdemeanor battery during that incident. Yesterday, the star was deported to Mexico in an apparent snafu involving the criminal record of another Robert James Ritchie. It’s the latest in an ongoing series of incidents wherein the U.S. mistakenly deports its own citizens.

Kid Rock is known for his patriotism; the star who calls himself ‘Rock and Roll Jesus’ has sold shirts bearing slogans including ‘God Guns & Trump,’ and ‘I’m American, Go Fuck Yourself.’ Ironically, Rock seems to be enjoying his time in Mexico, according to his tweet from late last night:
