The Mars Volta have hinted at a reunion. Vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala told a fan on twitter, “We will be back soon.”
The band’s last album was 2012’s Noctourniquet. In 2013, Cedric announced that he was finished with the band, tweeting, “I am no longer a member of the Mars Volta.” At the time, Cedric and his primary songwriting partner Omar Rodríguez-López were squabbling over tour plans and Omar’s commitments to other projects.
In the years since, the pair have reunited for a reunion of At the Drive In, which included a new album and a world tour. Looks like they might be ready to pick up where they left off with The Mars Volta soon, too.
