The brand new episode of the Culture Creature podcast features an interview with Trey Spruance, who was Mike Patton’s former bandmate in both Mr. Bungle and Faith No More. In the last few minutes of the episode, Trey revealed some interesting news. Here’s what he said about Patton:

He has a hardcore band. I heard it from a little birdie, he has a new hardcore band, sounds interesting… There’s nothing official, I just heard the rumor, but from a reliable place. It perked my ears up because he’s a natural with hardcore stuff, too.

That’s not a lot of information, but it sure is tantalizing. Should we expect a hardcore punk band in the vein of Bad Brains or Minor Threat? Patton’s most recent projects were albums by Nevermen and Kaada/Patton, both of which were released earlier this year.
