Nashville’s Paperhead are preparing Chew, their fourth album of psychedelic pop and lysergic rock. Stream Chew‘s centerpiece, ‘Dama de Lavanda,’ below. The song coasts on a buoyant latin rhythm before drifting away on a languorous breeze of a coda.
Chew is due February 17th via Trouble In Mind records. The band takes its time exploring its expansive sonic spectrum on Chew, drifting casually from space-rock riffs to trippy pop and country-fried steel guitar grooves.
Paperhead is a trio consisting of Ryan Jennings, Peter Stringer-Hye & Walker Mimms. The band takes its name from a lyric in Sixties psychedelic group July’s song ‘My Clown.’
