‘Prophets of Rage’ is Not a Rage Against the Machine Reunion, May Include Chuck D and B Real

How will they smash the state with 'Hits from the Bong'?

rage against the machine

Yesterday, a Twitter account operated by Rage Against the Machine fans (but run “with the band’s blessing”) tweeted a link to the website Rage fans went mental in anticipation of a possible Rage reunion, but it turns out that’s not the case. Rolling Stone reports that a source close to the band tells them that “this is not a Rage-specific reunion.”

Both Billboard and Amplify report that Prophets of Rage will feature three members of Rage Against the Machine (bassist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello, and drummer Brad Wilk), fronted by rappers Chuck D (of Public Enemy) and B-Real (of Cypress Hill). Both publications cite unidentified sources. Billboard says that Prophets of Rage will perform songs by all three bands.

We’ll find out for sure when that countdown clock winds down to zero.
