Savannah’s experimental sludge metal band Kylesa have announced an indefinite hiatus. The band’s statement (via Facebook, see below) reads, “After 15 years of nonstop touring and writing, we decided that it is time for a break.” Kylesa’s distinctive, envelope-pushing sound included experimentations with psychedelic influences, two drummers, and unique male and female vocals.
Fun fact I just learned: Kylesa drummer Eric Hernandez is also a member of Miami’s Capsule – an underrated must-listen for fans of heavy, technical hardcore.
