Sparta Returns With New Song ‘Graveyard Luck’ (Listen)

El Paso rock band Sparta have returned. The band, who are led by former At the Drive-In guitarist and vocalist Jim Ward, have released their first new song since 2012. Listen to ‘Graveyard Luck’ below.

Sparta has also announced a December 16th performance at El Paso venue Tricky Falls. Sparta’s current lineup consists of Ward, bassist Matt Miller, guitarist Gabriel Gonzalez and drummer Cully Symington. Ward announced the song and the performance on Facebook.

In 2016, Jim Ward was expected to be a part of At The Drive-In’s reunion plans, including touring and work on a new album (which would become in•ter a•li•a). Ward ultimately left At The Drive-In and was replaced by his former Sparta bandmate Keeley Davis. Sparta’s last studio album was 2006’s Threes. Their last new music was the 2012 song ‘Chemical Feel.’
